Having achieved notoriety as one of Australia's premium wine regions, a visit to McLaren Vale and adjoining McLaren Flat would not be complete without popping into our cellar doors, craft breweries, or micro-distilleries. Explore the region on a bike or by car and make the most of your weekend in the Vale. With frontage onto the region's bike track, The Shiraz Trail, Kingsgate has 2 eBikes available to hire if you would like to enjoy a leisurely day of exploration.
SWIM
The mast of the Star of Greece, shipwrecked in July 1888, can still be seen poking above the water line during low tide at Port Willunga.
A 15 minute drive will bring you to our favourite beach, where you can explore man made caves once used to house fisherman's boats or search for crabs and starfish at the beach's southern rock pools.
SAVOUR
Cellar doors across the Vale are coupled with restaurants, pizzerias and bars that celebrate our region's local produce. Indulge in an exquisitely curated dining experience at Muni or enjoy the more rustic offering at Oliver's Taranga for their monthly Porchetta Party.
